I survived Halloween without candy

I love my wife and I certainly love and appreciate her family.  This being said, when they arrived at our house carrying an unopened box of Teddy Grahms as a special “Halloween Treat” for Rachel, a fresh baked Apple Crisp and a loaf of bread to go with the Paleo Chili I made, I was a little miffed. Halloween being difficult enough, I felt like I was really kicking up my heels a bit and taking a chance by throwing some cider on the stove with some mulling spices and really didn’t think Rachel needed any more sugar to go with her sugar.

But I persevered.

Not a crunchy bear, piece of candy nor candied apple passed my lips, and I have another 3# of fat loss to show for it.  A total of twelve pounds of fat loss has brought me down from 208# to a hail and healthy 196# in just 35 days. So I’ve got that going for me…which is nice.

My Whole30 challenge is, for all intents and purposes, done (officially this Thursday, but all my food is bought, so the tracks are laid for the rest of the week), and while I’ll probably raise a little hell this weekend, I can’t see going back to eating the way I was before.  I might put honey in my tea or a periodic dollop of heavy cream in my coffee instead of Coconut Milk (but even here, I’ve started enjoying a morning “extra shot Americano” enough not to run right out and buy a carton of cream), but even so, I don’t like feeling icky after I eat and I want to continue to be healthy and have great performances in the gym…and my diet form the past is NOT going to fulfill those standards.
